Our Roots
Back in 1975, when turntables filled the stores in Seattle’s University District, three friends started Definitive Audio in a shop dedicated to making the highest quality audio reproduction possible. On the weekends, enthusiasts would pack into our small store to experience music coming from the some of the finest audio equipment in the world. These first customers not only loved the music, they were very interested in recreating the experience in their homes.
Over the years, some things have changed —but our passion for music and sound has not. We’ve stayed true to our roots in high performance audio, while expanding our services gradually and conscientiously over time. Today, Definitive is still locally owned and operated and provides a wide range of solutions for customers interested in the absolute best in audio, video, and custom integration.
