Music Matters 5
AN EVENING DEVOTED TO THE REPRODUCTION OF MUSIC

A large and enthusiastic crowd was stretched around the building before the doors opened for Music Matters 5. Just under 500 people had registered to attend. There were certainly more than that on hand to celebrate the fifth year of our annual event celebrating music - well reproduced.

Highlights this year included the world public debut of the new B&W 800 Series loudspeakers - dramatically improved from previous models, the new Audio Research Ref 5 pre-amp, Ref Phono 2 pre-amp and DS450 power amp, Magenpan's new MG1.7, 3-way loudspeaker - their first new Magnepan in 12 years, as well as the Linn DSi, Ayre DX5 universal Blu-ray player, the Peachtree iDecco and the debut of the new Vandersteen Model 7 loudspeakers.

With each successive Music Matters, the digital storage and playback of music, with computers and MP3 players, has played a larger role. Maximizing the techniques of digital storage and reproduction has made both the enjoyment and the management of music easier and more satisfying than anyone thought was possible. Each Music Matters 5 demonstration included exciting new solutions for magically coaxing digits into filling rooms with music. We can only imagine what is in store for the next Music Matters.

During the evening, we also had the opportunity to introduce our customers to the staff of Advanced Audio, a new Definitive location serving our customers in the South Sound region.

To those of you who attended, thank you. To everyone else, we extend an invitation to attend next year, when we will again be celebrating "Definitive Audio".

Again, thank you so much. And happy listening.

Sincerely,

Mark Ormiston, President
Craig Abplanalp, Vice President
