One In A Thousand
On November 2nd, those fortunate enough to visit Definitive Audio’s
Seattle store were in for a truly rare treat. “Breaking in” in
the back audio demonstration room was a pair of B&W Signature Diamond
loudspeakers.
Created to commemorate B&W’s 40 years in business, the Signature
is an extremely limited edition (only 1000 pairs are being produced). The
speaker is a two-way design, with a Kevlar midbass driver and a marble (yes–marble)
tube-loaded tweeter made from synthetic diamond.
Everyone who heard the speakers was entranced and a bit envious of the person
who ordered the speakers for his home.
Although the Signature Diamond is usually available exclusively by pre-paid
special order, there are rumors that B&W may make a pair available to
Definitive Audio for display. Stay tuned.
