Every digital audio system runs on a clock. The quality of that clock — specifically, how precisely and consistently it generates its timing signal — determines how much jitter corrupts the data being converted. Most DACs have a decent internal clock. The dCS Rossini Master Clock replaces "decent" with something that operates at a fundamentally different level of precision.
The Rossini Clock generates ultra-low jitter word clock outputs at multiple frequencies simultaneously, synchronizing the Rossini DAC and any other connected digital components to a single reference. When the DAC's conversion is locked to a cleaner clock, the low-level detail that jitter was blurring becomes audible. It's not subtle.
