There are turntables, then there is Döhmann.
We heard the Dohmann Helix at AXPONA 2026 and stopped mid-conversation. The kind of sound that makes you forget what you were about to say. We made calls. We moved quickly. The Helix One and Helix Two are now at Definitive — and we are the authorized Dohmann dealer for the Pacific Northwest.
Mark Dohmann spent years at the center of the high-end audio world before he decided to build a turntable. Not because he was dissatisfied with what existed — but because he could see, with complete clarity, what was being compromised and why. Most turntable design is a negotiation: cost versus performance, isolation versus convenience, materials versus manufacturability. Mark Dohmann decided to stop negotiating.
The Helix begins with a question most manufacturers never ask: what does the ideal mechanical environment for a stylus actually look like? From that question, every design decision follows. The multi-stage isolation system decouples the platter, bearing, and tonearm from structure-borne vibration. The precision bearing is machined to tolerances that allow the groove to be read exactly as it was cut. The motor architecture delivers rotation with absolute consistency — no cogging, no speed variation, no mechanical signature imposed on the record. The platter and mat are tuned as a system. Each element exists to serve one purpose: get the record to rotate with absolute stability, in a mechanical environment so quiet the stylus hears only the groove.
"The record is the source. Everything else is in the way." — Mark Dohmann
We set up every Dohmann we sell. We align the tonearm, optimize the geometry to your room and your cartridge, and we don't leave until it's right. If you've been thinking about what analogue looks like at the top of the field — this is the conversation to have.

Helix One Mk3
Model #: Helix Two Mk3
Available at the Experience Center
When Stereophile says "no turntable in my experience comes close to its sonic performance," they're talking about the Helix One. The Mk3 takes that further. Two tonearms. Zero excuses. This is what vinyl sounds like when nothing gets in the way.

The Foundation
Before founding Dohmann Audio, Mark Dohmann spent years working at the highest levels of the high-end audio industry — including time at Continuum Audio Laboratories, makers of the legendary Caliburn turntable, widely regarded as one of the finest record players ever built. This wasn't a hobbyist who decided to build a turntable. It was an engineer who had already worked at the summit of the field and knew exactly what the next step looked like.

Dohmann Audio Founded
Dohmann Audio was established in Melbourne, Australia with a single purpose: to build a turntable without negotiation. Not cost versus performance. Not isolation versus convenience. A design built entirely from first principles — every element serving one goal: get the record to rotate in a mechanical environment so controlled, so quiet, that the stylus receives only signal.

Introducing the Helix Two
The Helix Two was the first turntable to carry the Dohmann name. It introduced the multi-stage isolation system, the precision bearing, and the motor architecture that would define the Helix range — in a form that, while still a serious engineering achievement, opened the Dohmann philosophy to a wider audience. Reviews were immediate and unambiguous. This was a different category of turntable.

The Helix One
The Helix One arrived as Mark Dohmann's answer to a single question: how far can this go? Starting from the Helix Two's architecture and taking every element further, the One established a new reference point for turntable performance. More elaborate isolation. Tighter bearing tolerances. A more sophisticated drive system. A platter architecture tuned to a lower mechanical noise floor than anything Dohmann had achieved before. The result was a turntable that the press and the audiophile community placed alongside the finest record players in the world.

AXPONA 2026 & Definitive
Our team heard the Dohmann Helix at AXPONA 2026 and stopped mid-conversation. We moved quickly. The Helix One and Helix Two are now at Definitive Audio in Bellevue — the authorized Dohmann dealer for the Pacific Northwest. On May 15th, 2026, we hosted a private introduction with Mark Dohmann joining live via webcast from Australia for a small group of our best clients. The first chapter of Dohmann in the Pacific Northwest. Not the last.

2024
Radical Innovation
The Varèse, dCS's most advanced digital source, redefined expectations for musicality and precision, making its debut in the Pacific Northwest at Definitive and quickly gaining recognition for its revolutionary performance and innovative technologies. The Varèse made it's PNW Debut last October and has been a fan favorite ever since.
