Description

The Octave V 70 Class A redefines what a Class A amplifier can be by merging the celebrated tonal qualities of pure Class A with the dynamics and power reserves of push-pull A/B technology. Traditionally, Class A amplifiers are prized for their seductive midrange and low distortion, but limited by low power, excessive heat, and restricted dynamics. To overcome these drawbacks, Octave developed a new concept: Dynamic Bias Control. This proprietary technology dynamically adjusts the amplifier’s operating point, effectively doubling the usable power to 50 watts RMS and up to 70 watts peak with the Super Black Box upgrade—all while preserving the hallmark purity of Class A sound.

Housed in a robust, optimized chassis, the V 70 Class A is engineered around a pentode push-pull circuit that maintains Class A virtues across the full frequency spectrum, even at maximum modulation. It offers flexibility with a balanced input, optional MM/MC phono board, and an auto-bias system that automatically adapts to different tubes. Users can choose between Power High (KT 120 / KT 150) or Power Low (KT 88 / 6550) modes, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of tube types.

As with Octave’s top models, the V 70 Class A incorporates advanced features such as soft-start power management, electronic monitoring, ECO Mode, home theater bypass, a regulated preamp output (ideal for subwoofers), and connections for Octave’s Black Box or Super Black Box power supply upgrades. Its power supply technology shields against mains fluctuations and high-frequency interference, safeguarding sonic purity under all conditions.

Extending Octave’s tradition of powerful, musical integrated amplifiers, the V 70 Class A delivers the emotional richness of Class A with the performance and reliability expected from a modern, high-end amplifier—making it a true landmark in integrated amplifier design.
