Definitive and McIntosh, Pioneering Home Audio together for 40 Years

Some brands you know before you’ve heard them. McIntosh is one of those brands.

For over 75 years, those glowing blue meters and distinctive glass faceplates have been as much a part of listening rooms as the music itself. McIntosh has earned that recognition — not through marketing, but through decades of building components that do something increasingly rare in high-end audio: they combine serious performance with an emotional, visceral connection to music that transcends technical specifications.

McIntosh amplifiers deliver effortless power with a warmth and richness that makes you want to keep listening. For hours. Whether it’s a classic tube amplifier like the MC275 — still in continuous production, still a beloved benchmark — or a modern solid-state powerhouse like the MC462, McIntosh has a way of making music feel alive, present, and deeply engaging.

Beyond amplification, McIntosh offers turntables, streaming components, loudspeakers, and complete integrated system solutions for every kind of listener. Every product is designed and built in Binghamton, New York — an unwavering commitment to American manufacturing and a build standard designed to last not just years, but decades. It’s not uncommon for McIntosh owners to pass their components down through generations. Vintage McIntosh pieces from the 1960s and 70s are still in daily active use. That’s what you’re buying into.

At our Seattle Experience Center, we showcase McIntosh systems in dedicated listening rooms where you can hear what these legendary components actually do. Our team has deep experience pairing McIntosh with speakers from Bowers & Wilkins, KEF, and others to create systems that are both visually stunning and sonically extraordinary.

If you’ve always admired McIntosh from afar, come hear what the excitement is about. You’re always welcome.
