Description

The second-generation Progression M550 Mono Amplifier carries the D’Agostino family styling, featuring a new heat sink design inspired by the flagship Relentless Mono Amplifier. Milled from a single 48.5-pound aluminum billet, the elliptical form enhances cooling efficiency, ensuring reliable performance even at full-rated power. The M550 delivers 550/1,100/2,220 watts into 8/4/2 ohms, as reflected in its name.

Significant revisions to the input topology improve distortion, signal-to-noise ratio, channel separation, and bandwidth. New transistors, handling six times the power of previous components, and a new DC coupling circuit enhance low-frequency response and expand bandwidth. These upgrades, combined with an enhanced output stage, refine dynamic impact and spatial integrity for an immersive listening experience. The signal path is discrete, balanced, and direct-coupled, with advanced protection techniques.

The Progression M550 uses a new transistor that extends high-frequency response, increases power handling, and features tighter gain matching. Coupled with an efficient heat sink and higher bias specification, this allows the amplifier to operate in Class A up to 70 watts, improving tonal reproduction. The Super Rail topology boosts voltage prior to the output stage, maximizing output performance, reducing distortion, and improving speaker control.

The anodized aluminum faceplate features iconic 180° power meters, enhanced by a high-speed ballistic circuit for improved responsiveness. With its innovative circuitry and nearly unlimited power output, the Progression M550 delivers exceptional dynamics, detail, and a three-dimensional soundstage, far surpassing lesser designs.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What is the warranty on Dan D'Agostino Amplifiers?

D’Agostino LLC warrants their amplifiers against manufacturing defects and defects in materials for five years from the date of retail purchase or six years from the original date of manufacture from an authorized Dan D’Agostino Master Audio Systems dealer, subject to certain conditions.

Do you offer service on Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers?

We do! In many cases we can service a still under warranty amplifier in the home, however in rare cases we might need to bring it in for more extensive maintenance.

Do you accept trade-ins toward purchase?

Absolutely. We have an aggressive trade in program aimed at getting our clients to the next level. Ask one or our experts about it or submit your potential trade in gear here.
