Linn 343 Floorstanding Speakers

343 is the first Linn loudspeaker designed around the Pistonik motor system from the outset. Cabinet geometry, bass architecture, drive unit behavior, and electronics were all developed together -- not assembled after the fact. The result is reference performance concealed inside a form compact and composed enough to sit in any home.

At the core is a down-firing 8" Pistonik bass driver paired with a 6" Pistonik upper bass driver. Together they carry 70% of the speaker's acoustic workload, delivering bass with scale, texture, and composure -- bass that feels intrinsic to the recording rather than added by the speaker. The down-firing arrangement uses the floor boundary to distribute low-frequency energy naturally into the room, while the cabinet's mass works against the driver's reactive energy.

The cabinet is a continuous, hard-edge-free composite form that reduces diffraction, supports wide dispersion, and maintains a rock-solid image across an unusually wide listening area. The speaker recedes into the room. The performance does not.

At the rear, a curved cowl conceals the module that drives the loudspeaker -- mechanically isolated on a three-point spring system and passively cooled in silence by a custom aluminium heat sink. No fan noise. Nothing added to the signal chain that should not be there.

343 Exakt Integrated houses Linn's Utopik power supply, Exakt digital crossover, Power DAC, Organik DACs, and Adaptive Bias Control amplification entirely within the cabinet. 343 Passive with Active Bass (PWAB) uses the same Pistonik bass system internally and accepts external amplification for the upper frequencies.
