Description

Power supply design shapes everything downstream. Noise, voltage ripple, and current fluctuations -- even at levels that look clean on a scope -- blur transients, compress dynamics, and bury low-level detail. Wattson and CH Precision treat power supply engineering as a core discipline, not a supporting role. The Madison Power S brings that discipline to the Madison Streamer.

The Power S uses a hybrid architecture: switching regulation handles efficiency and heat management, then hands off to a discrete bipolar transistor linear regulator for the output stage. A precision power line filter at the input suppresses noise and high-frequency interference before the switched-mode stage. The converted DC is then refined through passive and active filtering with substantial energy storage for voltage stability under dynamic loads. The result is clean, fast, stable current -- the kind that allows sensitive digital circuits to perform without compromise.

The Power S matches the Madison Streamer's footprint exactly and is designed as a visual and electronic companion. In practice, the audible difference is consistent: a quieter background, more precise transients, sharper dynamic contrasts, and more stable soundstage. The Streamer's included supply is adequate. The Power S is what the circuit was designed around. Highly recommended.
