The Aura represents the pinnacle of Rega's decades of analog engineering. Designed exclusively for moving coil cartridges, it is a fully discrete, Class A circuit with a single purpose: get out of the way and let the music through. Rega made a deliberate decision here -- no adjustable loading, no switching, no variable gain. Every switch in a signal path is a liability. The Aura has none. What you get instead is a fixed 100-ohm input impedance optimized for low-output MC cartridges, 79dB of gain, and a noise floor that disappears entirely.

The circuit is housed in a purpose-built chassis with a fully regulated, separately designed power supply. Every decision Rega made in this product -- from the discrete transistor topology to the regulated rails -- follows the same logic: fewer compromises, more music.
