We’ve always believed great sound isn’t just heard...it’s felt. That’s why we’re proud to welcome Meze Audio to our lineup. An audio company whose philosophy and craftsmanship echo our own relentless pursuit of extraordinary.
Founded in Baia Mare, Romania, Meze Audio isn’t your typical audio brand. From the beginning, founder Antonio Meze set out to build more than just headphone, he wanted to design heirlooms. Pieces that feel alive in your hands. That approach has made Meze one of the most celebrated headphone makers in the world, fusing acoustics with art, performance with poetry.
Meze’s origin story begins with a guitar. As a designer and music lover, Antonio Meze sought to build headphones that inspired the same emotional connection that instruments do. That meant ditching disposable design. It meant using real materials—CNC-machined aluminum, carbon fiber, and most iconically, hand-finished wood.
Their now-legendary 99 Classics introduced the world to the Meze aesthetic: flowing lines, natural walnut earcups, and a sound signature as rich and warm as the wood itself. It wasn’t just a pretty face—reviewers praised the 99s for their clarity, balance, and musicality. And the world noticed. From audiophile forums to fashion magazines, Meze was suddenly everywhere.
You know we appreciate craftsmanship in every detail. It's why we design theaters that disappear into architecture and systems that stir emotion with a whisper. That’s what makes Meze such a perfect fit. Their woodwork isn’t just decorative, but rather a foundational element of their design philosophy.
Each Meze headphone is the result of dozens of hours of hand work. No two pieces of wood are the same, and each is selected, carved, and finished to meet acoustic and aesthetic standards. This natural material shapes the way these headphones sound, lending warmth, resonance, and a uniquely organic presentation that synthetic materials can't replicate.
Whether it’s the seductive lines of the Liric II, the hybrid acoustic elegance of the Advar, or the flagship masterpiece Empyrean II, Meze’s lineup offers a sense of soul that few brands can touch. These aren’t just listening tools. They’re instruments built to play your music the way it was meant to be heard.
Beyond the materials, Meze’s approach to ergonomics and modularity sets them apart. Every element (from suspension headbands to driver architecture) is designed for long-term comfort and lifetime ownership. Many parts are user-replaceable, and the modular build ensures these are headphones meant to be enjoyed for many years to come.
Their in-house developed isodynamic hybrid array drivers, created in collaboration with Rinaro Isodynamics, power models like the Empyrean II and Elite with expansive imaging and lifelike dynamics. And yet, despite the cutting-edge tech, Meze headphones never sound sterile. They sing.
