Description

Every version of the ZEN has earned its reputation by doing more than the price suggests it should. The Next-Gen edition continues that tradition, but the changes underneath are more substantial than an incremental update. The power supply has been redesigned around Innuos' proprietary RECAP2 gallium nitride regulation — the same NGaN platform used in the ZENith, applied here with appropriate tuning for the ZEN's circuit demands.

The processing core is an Intel i3 built around Innuos' AudioCore approach: dedicated physical CPU cores reserved exclusively for audio processes, keeping the critical work isolated from background system activity. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a storage architecture that scales to 16TB SSD give the ZEN Next-Gen the headroom to function as a serious library hub, not just a streamer.

Three USB 3.2 Gen2 outputs and bridged Gigabit Ethernet cover the fundamentals, and the modular design allows future addition of SPDIF, PhoenixUSB, or PhoenixI2S output boards without replacing the unit. It supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD up to DSD512. Should your system outgrow it, the ZEN Next-Gen is upgradeable to ZENith Next-Gen.

This is a machine that rewards serious listening and serious music collections — built to last, built to scale, and built with the precision that the Innuos name has consistently delivered.

In addition to great sound, the Innuos Statement allows me to combine streamed files from Tidal or Qobuz with ripped files from my CD collection, in a seamless, fully engineered, self contained system, without the need to use a computer or other external device.  You don't even need to change inputs to switch between the streamer and the server.  It is very convenient and intuitive to use.
