McIntosh MX124 A/V Processor

The McIntosh MX124 is built for one purpose: to deliver the most immersive, most accurate home theater experience possible. It does not compromise on audio, video, room correction, or connectivity -- and it is unmistakably McIntosh from the inside out.

At the audio core, the MX124 supports 13.4 channels with nine audiophile-grade 32-bit DACs handling the conversion. Four dedicated subwoofer outputs -- double the previous model -- allow configurations like 7.4.6 or 9.4.4. Every major surround format is covered: Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Sony 360 Reality Audio, MPEG-H Audio, and IMAX Enhanced. The result is a sonic environment where nothing is smoothed over and nothing is left out.

Room correction is handled by Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control, with all licenses included. Dirac analyzes the space, corrects acoustic anomalies, and optimizes bass performance across all four subwoofer outputs -- eliminating the uneven low-frequency response that undermines so many theater rooms. Audyssey MultEQ XT32 is also on board if you prefer it. A full-size metal microphone stand is included.

On the video side, seven HDMI inputs and three HDMI outputs support 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz. One output carries eARC. HDR formats include Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG. ALLM, VRR, QFT, and 4:4:4 color spacing are all supported. Two HDMI outputs serve the main zone; the third runs an independent Zone 2.

Streaming is built in with direct integration for Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, AirPlay, Bluetooth, and Roon Ready certification. A Bluetooth transmitter lets you route audio to wireless headphones when the room needs to stay quiet.

Control integration is equally serious. The MX124 carries Connects with Control4 Certification via SDDP and Works with Crestron Home Certification -- setup via web GUI, with pre-configuration file upload, backup/restore support, and RS232 for automation control.
