It is a multi-driver, four-way loudspeaker built from Wilson's proprietary X-Material and S-Material composites -- cabinet materials chosen for their acoustic properties, their rigidity, and their ability to stay out of the way of the music playing inside them.

What separates the Alexx from the speakers below it in the Wilson line is not simply scale. It is resolution. The driver complement -- including Wilson's Convergent Synergy tweeter and dedicated midrange module -- operates within a time-domain architecture that adjusts to the listening position. Tweeter and midrange modules are repositioned during setup, calibrating the arrival time of every frequency to the specific seat in the specific room. Most speakers ask the room to accept them.
