The WATT/Puppy is Wilson Audio's most consequential design. The 5.1 was the version that set the benchmark in the mid-to-late 1990s. A two-piece system: the WATT monitor handles upper frequencies in its own purpose-built enclosure; the Puppy woofer module handles bass in a separately tuned cabinet. Each optimized for its range, then integrated.
This is the speaker that recording engineers paid for out of their own budgets, because it told the truth about what was on tape. They are 25-plus years old. They were built to last, and they still demonstrate coherence and dynamics that challenge speakers costing far more today.
